Comprehensive Case Study of Mrs. S.K. – Managing Gallbladder Calculi and Associated Symptoms with Homeopathic Treatment

38-year-old female Mrs. S.K. (registration number ABU-131) presented with gallbladder calculi, accompanied by left-sided pain. A recent USG report from April 25, 2022, confirmed the presence of multiple gallbladder calculi, with the largest measuring 8mm. She also complained of hyperacidity persisting for 15 years, right-sided headaches, nausea, and vomiting. Notably, Mrs. S.K. had a history of umbilical hernia (7.5×7 mm) that had been operated on four times. Other medical conditions included hypothyroidism for 15 years and deficiencies in vitamin B12 and vitamin D. She had a history of pneumonia and jaundice.

 

Family History

Her father had diabetes and hypertension, while her brother had hypertension.

 

Personal History

Mrs. S.K. had a mixed diet with a good appetite and a preference for sweets. She described herself as a thermally hot patient and reported a regular menstrual cycle.

 

Mental Characteristics

Mrs. S.K. exhibited several unique mental characteristics, including being easily mixed up with people, a calm nature, being a good student during childhood, experiencing stage fear, and having difficulty with decision-making. She tended to suppress anger and was prone to weeping, but consolation provided relief.

 

Treatment

Homeopathic treatment for Mrs. S.K. included the prescription of Pulsatilla 200 and Berberis vulgaris mother tincture.

 

Follow-up Progress

On 8/6/2022, Mrs. S.K. reported reduced hyperacidity, headache, nausea, and improved appetite, thirst, urine, motion, and sleep.
On 2/8/2022, back pain was still present, but other symptoms improved, and Pulsatilla 200 was administered.
On 20/10/2022, she experienced mild pain in the right side of the abdomen, but overall improvement was noted.
On 5/4/2023, Mrs. S.K. reported symptoms such as gases, constipation, and a sensation of something stuck after eating, which improved with Pulsatilla 200.
On 12/10/2023, she complained of mild pain in the right side of the abdomen for two weeks and was advised to repeat the USG.

The USG showed multiple gallbladder calculi with an average size of 3-4 mm.
