  • The overlying skin may be erythematous and warm to the touch.
  1. Discharge of Pus:
  • Sometimes, the purulent material, or pus, may be visible at the opening of the Stensen’s duct, located within the cheek, opposite the upper second molar, when the gland is pressed upon.

Systemic Symptoms-

  1. Fever and Chills:
  • Fever is present in almost all cases, with a high-grade fever commonly reported in patients with severe or untreated infections.
  1. Malaise:
  • The patient typically reports generalized weakness or feelings of fatigue.
  1. Signs of Dehydration:
  • The mouth is dry, thirst is reported, and urination is decreased, especially in elderly or postoperative patients.
